This level is ideal if you’re new to accountancy and finance, have previously worked in an accounts department, or are looking to change your career into accountancy.
Learners are able to:
Understand the cost recording system within an organisation, use cost recording techniques, and provide information on actual and budgeted costs and income.
Must be over 18 years at the time of application. There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification, but as a learner you will be ideally to be working with an organisation or role where they can demonstrate skills and apply knowledge. Alternatively, you could draw on previous experience within an organisation or use an organisation you are familiar with.
The Qualifications have been designed to be accessible without artificial barriers that restrict access and progression:
IELTS minimum 5.0- 6.5 overall with no fail.
Pass 5 GCSE subjects or equivalent
You don’t need any prior experience working in accounts to study AAT Foundation. There are no entry requirements, but you do need good maths, IT, and English skills, and a willingness to learn. Take the AAT skill check test launch to find out which level you can start at.
If you’ve completed the AAT Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping (FCIB) short qualification, you will be exempt from completing the first two units of this level (Bookkeeping Transactions and Bookkeeping Controls).
