Course Description

Overview

This level will encourage you to master more complex accounting principles in both Bookkeeping and Management Accounting. You’ll develop the technical skills to start, or progress, your career in accountancy and this will allow you to continue with your studies onto Level 4.

Learners are able to:

Study the relevance of ethics in accountancy and learn about unethical behaviour or illegal acts in your accounting role.

Learn the relevant spreadsheet skills and techniques which Accounting Technicians will use on a daily basis by incorporating the knowledge you have learnt from AVBK, FAPR and MMAC.

  • Entry Requirements
  • Must be over 18 years at the time of application. There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification, but as a learner you will be ideally to be working with an organisation or role where they can demonstrate skills and apply knowledge. Alternatively, you could draw on previous experience within an organisation or use an organisation you are familiar with.

    The Qualifications have been designed to be accessible without artificial barriers that restrict access and progression:
    IELTS minimum 5.0- 6.5 overall with no fail.
    Pass 5 GCSE subjects or equivalent

    Entry requirements

    You should have either passed AAT Foundation (Level 2), or you may be eligible for relevant exemptions if you’ve been working in an intermediate accounts role before enrolling on this course, or have achieved relevant A Levels.

    If you are starting on Level 3, we advise that you enrol onto the Kaplan 2 Day Bookkeeping course, as there is an assumption at this level that you have a good knowledge of Double Entry Bookkeeping.

    Assessment will take place via computer-based exam and assignment.  This ensures you minimise time away from work and that you undertake work study which is relevant to your own
